Heavily influenced by his surroundings, William draws inspiration from the unique historical narratives, decorative cultures, and architectural styles of location. His work seeks to uncover and elevate that which makes us truly human: our motivations, needs, and desires.
William grew up in the American South and Southwest, living in places as varied as Oklahoma City, a ranch in the Texas Hill Country, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. These formative experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for the subtle and diverse personalities expressed through design and style.
Now based between New York City and Birmingham, Alabama, William draws continual inspiration from the places he’s called home. Among his favorites are the ballroom of a landmark Upper West Side townhouse and an apartment in a former 1920s Art Deco hotel. William has a talent for crafting intimate, highly personalized spaces for his clients—merging classic design principles with a youthful, modern flair, always tailored to each individual’s taste, needs, and above all, desires.
William Salomone holds a BFA in Integrated Design from Parsons The New School for Design in New York City and Paris.
